President: Prof. Abdul Salam Majali, Jordan is a professor of Medicine and a former Director General of the Royal Medical Services, Jordan Armed Forces. He is a former Minister of Health, President of the University of Jordan, and Minister of Education. Prof. Majali was appointed advisor to the late HM the King of Jordan during the late eighties and served as Prime Minister of Jordan for two terms during 1990s. He is a Founding Fellow of the Islamic Academy of Sciences. |

Vice-President: Prof. J (Younis) Ario Katili, Indonesia is a professor of Geology. He is a former Vice-Chairman of the Indonesian National Research Council. He served for a number of years as Indonesia’s Ambassador in Russia. He was elected a Fellow of the IAS in 1991. |

He is a Founding Fellow of the Islamic Academy of Sciences and former Chairman of the Pakistan Science Foundation and former President, Pakistan Academy of Sciences. At present, he is Advisor to the Chancellor, Hamdard University, Islamabad. He obtained his PhD in Inorganic and Analytical Chemistry from Washington State University, USA, in 1964. |

| Treasurer: Prof. Adnan Badran, Jordan is a professor of Biology. He is the former Deputy Director General UNESCO, Paris, France. At present, he is president of Philadelphia University, Amman, Jordan. He was elected to the Fellowship of the IAS in 1989. Formerly, Prof. Badran served as Minister of Agriculture, and Minister of Education in Jordan as well as Secretary General of Jordan's Higher Council for Science and Technology (HCST). He is also a past president of Yarmouk University, Jordan. |

| Secretary General: Prof. Mehmet Ergin, Turkey is a professor of Chemical Engineering. He is Secretary General of the Islamic Academy of Sciences. He obtained his PhD in Chemistry (Physical Chemistry) from Glasgow University, Glasgow, United Kingdom, 1969. He formerly served as President of the Turkish Scientific and Technical Research Council (TUBITAK), and President of the Turkish Atomic Energy Commission. He is a Founding Fellow of the IAS. |

| Member: Prof. Naci Bor, Turkey is a professor of Medicine. He is a Founding Fellow of the Islamic Academy of Sciences. Prof. Bor is the founder and chief editor of the Medical Journal of the IAS. He has served as chairman of the Medical Research Centre at Hacettepe University, Ankara, Turkey, where he was professor of medicine for many years. Dr Bor is the Chairman of the Anadolu Health and Research Foundation. |

| Member: Prof. Mohamed H A Hassan, Sudan Prof. Hassan obtained his DPhil in Plasma Physics from Oxford University. He is a former Fulbright Research Fellow, Founding Fellow and President of the African Academy of Sciences since 1999. Prof. Hassan is the Executive Director of the Third World Academy of Sciences (TWAS), and Secretary General of the Third World Network of Scientific Organizations (TWNSO). |
