Prof. Ucisik elected to the Fellowship of the Islamic Academy of Sciences in 1992.

A Professor of Materials at Bogazici University, Prof. Ucisik graduated from Istanbul University in Turkey with a MSc in Metallurgical Engineering in 1967. He got his PhD in Materials Science in 1972.

Formerly, Prof. Ucisik has served as an Associate Professor at Istanbul Technical University, Director of Marmara Scientific and Industrial Research Institute, of the Turkish Scientific and Technical Research Council (TUBITAK), as well as an Instructor at the Metallurgical Engineering Department Istanbul Technical University.

Prof. Ucisik has more that 100 scientific research papers which were published in many national and international journals, in such topics as Biological Material and Structure as well as Properties of Materials, Ceramics and Composites.

In addition, Prof. Ucisik is a member of the American Society as well as the Japanese Society for Dental Materials and Devices.
