Prof. Tebyani was born in 1950, in Iran. He studied Electronics and Telecommunications and earned his degrees as follows: BSc (1973) Sharif University of Technology, Tehran, Iran; MSc (1977), and PhD 1979, both at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), USA.

A teaching Professor at Sharif University of Technology since 1979, Prof. Tebyani served as President of Iranian Research Organisation for Science and Technology (1982-1989).

He specialized and carried out his research activity in “Applications of Digital Signal Processing to Radar” and “Atmospheric Turbulence Effect on Optical Laser Beams.”
