Prof. Mohammad Abdollahi
Born in the North of Iran in 1965 got his PharmD from University of Tehran (UoT)
in 1988 and PhD (Toxicol./Pharmacol.) from TUMS in 1994, and a postdoc in
Biochemical/Molecular Toxicology from School of Pharmacy (Role of PDE
inhibitors on hepatic glucose metabolism and oxidative stress), and a
coolaborative fellowship in Clinical Toxicology (Meta-analysis of pregnancy
outcomes on exposure to PPIs) from Sick Kids Hospital, University of
Toronto, Canada in 2001. In 1994 he became Assistant Professor, and in 1998
became Associate Professor, and in 2003 he got a Full Professor honour of
TUMS with a high score. The outcomes of his researches is more than 250
papers and being involved in writing of 16 Farsi and two English books. He
has supervised more than 200 Doctorate students thesis. He is working on
experimental and human models of diseases like gastrointestinal tract,
salivary glands, liver, pancreas, and bone to find out the mechanisms of
action of xenobiotics and key biomarkers of toxicity. He also works in the
field of meta-analysis of clinical trials. Involving in establishing of
Iran's Drug & Poison Information Centers is one of his honors. He is
president of Iranian Society of Toxicology, and Director of Iran's
Examination and Evaluation Board of Toxicology. He is in the Review and
Editorial Board of more than 45 world-known specialty journals. He is member
of American Academy of Clinical Toxicology and Roster of Experts in
Biological Sciences, Joint FAO/WHO Meeting on Pesticide Residues (JMPR) of
World Health Organisation. He is the Laureate of the Islamic-World Academy
of Sciences (IAS) and OIC Standing Committee on Scientific and Technological
CO-Operation (COMSTECH) in Pharmacology & Toxicology for the year 2005. He
has been selected as Leading Scientist of the World 2007 by International
Biographical Centre at Cambridge of England. Mohammad has been elected as a
Fellow of IAS in the 2008 General Assembly. |
